WESTERN ILLINOIS 7, SIUE 1
MACOMB, Ill.
- The Western Illinois baseball team put together a complete performance on both sides of the ball, defeating SIUE, 7-1, on Sunday afternoon. The Leathernecks claim the series against the Cougars, winning 2 of 3 games.  With the win, the Leathernecks move to 11-26 on the season, 5-10 in conference.

Western Illinois broke things open in the third inning with three runs on just two hits. Liam Bushey got the scoring started with a single, followed by a run-scoring play off an SIUE error. Isaiah Monge capped the inning with an RBI single to give WIU an early 3-0 lead.

After SIUE responded with a solo home run in the fourth, the Leathernecks answered right back. Josh McClintock came around to score on a wild pitch later in the inning, extending the lead to 4-1.

WIU created even more separation in the sixth, adding three runs to put the game out of reach. Bushey delivered again with a two-RBI single, while Gage Hoover brought in another run to make it 7-1.

Bushey led the offense with a 3-for-5 day and four RBIs, while McClintock added two hits and scored twice. Monge also contributed an RBI as part of the balanced offensive effort.

On the mound, Brett Buchanan earned the win, tossing five innings and allowing just one run on five hits while striking out four. Harrison Dubois and Eric Rawlings combined to shut down SIUE over the final four innings, allowing just two hits and no runs to secure the win.

LINDENWOOD 18, MOREHEAD STATE 13
MOREHEAD, Ky.
- The Lindenwood baseball team (21-18, 8-7 OVC) extended their conference winning streak to seven games and secured their second consecutive OVC sweep with an 18-13 win over Morehead State (18-21, 5-10 OVC) on Sunday afternoon. The contest featured 37 combined hits, including seven home runs.

The Lions totaled a season-most 20 hits as they registered their highest run total of 2026. Sam Driscoll remained on a tear, leading Lindenwood with a career-best four hits in six at bats, including two home runs and a double.

William Zareh also had a monster day at the plate, going 3-6 with a double, homer, and team-leading five RBIs. It was the clean up man's second three-hit outing of the season and hit highest RBI total.

Will Geary also recorded three hits – including a double – and drove in one run, while Owen Ralph posted multiple hits and RBIs, going 2-5 with a double and two RBIs.

Aaron Jungers picked up the win on the mound to move his record to 4-0 on the season after tossing 5.1 innings in relief. Ethan Smith secured his first save of the season after surrendering just a walk with three strikeouts through the final inning and a third.

The fireworks started early, with William Zareh doubling down the left field line in the top of the first to plate Will Geary, who had reached on a fielder's choice and moved into scoring position on a Jake Radosevich double.

After Tyler Ellis was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Kam Edwards drew a walk to force another run home before a Filip Sarota base hit drove in Zareh to make the score 3-0. With the bags still juiced, Owen Ralph was plunked to keep the line moving, however the next two LU batters were retired to prevent any further runs from scoring.

Morehead State immediately answered with four runs of their own in the bottom of the first with the first six MSU batters reaching base safely before Lucas Niemeyer was able to work out of the inning. The Eagles would then take the lead in the bottom of the third with a Nick Cubbin leadoff homer to right center.

Sam Driscoll had an answer in the top of the fourth, leading off the inning with his second home run of the weekend to tie the game. Charlie Isom-McCall was subsequently walked, and after a Will Geary ground rule double put runners on second and third with no outs, a balk allowed Isom-McCall to take the final 90 feet. The Lions tacked on one more run in the frame with Geary scoring on a William Zareh RBI single to shallow center.

Lindenwood tacked on another run in the top of the fifth with Driscoll doubling and scoring on a Will Geary RBI base hit before Kam Edwards recorded his first home run of the season in the sixth with a towering ball well clear of the wall in right field to make the tally 9-5 in favor of the Lions.

MSU got one back in the bottom of the sixth with an Alex Kean RBI base hit, but Lindenwood would hang their third crooked number of the afternoon four more runs in the seventh to break the game wide open. The frame featured a pair of home runs, including Sam Driscoll's second lead off homer of the game and a William Zareh three-run shot after Isom-McCall and Geary reached base on a hit by pitch and single.

However, the lead evaporated quickly after Morehead State erupted for five runs in the bottom of the seventh, beginning the frame with three consecutive singles before plating runs on back-to-back fielder's choice plays. Nick Griffith shrunk the LU lead to just a pair with a three-run homer before Easton Rakers recorded consecutive strikeouts to stop the bleeding.

The Lions answered with two more runs in the top of the eighth with Owen Ralph scoring on a wild pitch before Sam Driscoll reached home safely on a two-out error.

The Eagles refused to go away quietly, though, and following an Aubrey Kearns solo home run with two outs, MSU loaded the bases with two base hits and a walk before a second consecutive free pass forced home a second run. However, a fly out ended the inning with Lindenwood's lead still intact.

The Lions were able to add three insurance runs on three hits in the top of the ninth, including an Owen Ralph double off the wall that plated Matt Graf and Filip Sarota before a Charlie Isom-McCall RBI base hit tacked on one more.

With a five-run lead behind him, Ethan Smith struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth to close the game.
